Ambulance par AIDN

The Association intends to function by organizing commissions or work groups by function of the respective skills of its members. The health, education and economic development commissions have been created and the projects relative to these different fields will be written and submitted to our partners for funding.

Health Project

The village of Ndianda has one functional health post under the direction of a state nurse who assures primary healthcare services. The quality of these services is limited however by the unavailability of a health insurance provider for the population and insufficiency of materials for primary healthcare. The Association wishes to install projects concerted with the population and initiate financial requests in order to support establishment of a health insurance system and the acquisition of tools for emergency transport (ambulance, motor vehicles, etc), materials for hospitalization (hospital beds, mattresses, sheets) and medicines/diagnostic kits for the most preventative ailments like malaria during the rainy season. Other priorities will be identified and the projects will be written and submitted to our partners for funding.

Education Project

The public elementary school of Ndianda showed a delay these last years due to lack of access to education. For around 800 enrolled students, the school only has 8 functional classrooms in a state of rapid decay. Since its creation, the school does not have a library and is not computerized. Each year, the school faces an enormous lack of educational material and teaching personnel.

The middle school has only one classroom and was established in 2011. However, the numerous problems of education in the village remain unsolved.IADN having been sensitized to these numerous difficulties, intends to create an education commission that will undertake the writing and proposal of projects of reinforcement in classrooms and of the teaching personnel, in educational material and the construction of a village library in order to face the problems associated with education.IADN also hopes to help with the enlargement of the middle school and the installation of computer material to help the local education system have access to technologies and to communication. The success of these different projects will permit the increase of educational access, increase of the success of entry to the sixth grade, to "le brevet" (middle school French diploma), and to high school, resulting in the reduction of rural exodus and improvement of living conditions of the population as a whole.

Training and Management Projects

The main activity outside of the rainy season rests on vegetable harvesting, in particular, the onion; however, the lack of appropriate training and the difficulties linked to the management of water limits the productivity of harvests for the very courageous and determined young people that did not leave the village.IADN wants to invest in training these young people while searching for funds to create jobs for the youth in the field of biological agriculture, biological gardening, biological facilities and in the fields of adequate management of water and other natural resources. In terms of these trainings or internships, the adolescents should be able to discover this organic sector, to create gardens that are agreeable to visit and that can feed people all year long (self-sufficiency). They should also go outside of these trainings or internship programs to learn how nature functions and to understand the consequences of their actions on the environment. Finally, the training should have an objective to allow the youth to produce and sell in large quantities in order to improve their living conditions and those of their respective families.
